WAE 2018 is all about showcasing live music with an electronic soul. We’ve highlighted five artists across the musical spectrum that you should definitely catch on the Saturday of our epic Weekender in Velder Woods.
Artist: The Prodigy
The Prodigy will receive a warm homecoming at WAE this July. Commanding our main stage for the second time, The Prodigy’s exclusive 2018 European date will be one for the books. The iconic English electronic music group has proven to be an unstoppable act, with a 26-year track record of full-on attack mode performances. We can’t wait for them to destroy the Crash stage on Day 2 of WAE.
Artist: Danny Byrd
Hospital Records artist, Danny Byrd, has an unrivaled take on soulful, vocal drum’n’bass and has become a staple in the scene. His use of hip hop, house and R&B influences immediately began turning heads with his first Hospital outings. The Bath based, brandy drinking producer has been responsible for some massive rave anthems over the years, which has gained him Radio One success and international recognition. The Byrd is definitely the word at the Snare stage this year!
Artist: Low Steppa
In just a few short years, Low Steppa has become synonymous with bass house to such an extent that it’s nearly impossible to mention one without the other. From his explosive bootleg of Route 94’s ‘My Love’ to playing BBC Radio 1’s Big Weekend, from Sankey’s Ibiza residencies to his Rinse FM show and all-conquering Simma Black imprint, Low Steppa is about as relevant and in-demand a DJ and producer as it’s possible to be. We’ll be shaking our booties over at the Pulse stage during Low Steppa’s upbeat set. See you front left!
Artist: Nora En Pure
Nora En Pure is the Deep House & Indie Dance music sensation that is rippling through the sonic sphere with her beautiful blend of electronic beats. The South African-born artist leads listeners out of the darker realms of Deep House with intricate instrumentals and enlightening melodies. The Sirius XM Chill weekly radio show host will be bringing all the feels to the Pulse stage on Day 2 of WAE. Come vibe with us!
Artist: Marco Bailey
Belgian artist, Marco Bailey, is a techno O.G. The early ‘90s were all about hard work and dedication, playing gigs at small clubs for small fees, and sometimes even for free. His break came in 2000 on Carl Cox’s Intec imprint with “Play It Back”. The releases came flowing over the next few years, with the releases of the critically acclaimed “Rube Boy” album (2004) , soon followed by the “Dragon Man” LP on John Digweed’s Bedrock label in 2011. Marco Bailey has traveled relentlessly throughout his career, touring all the major clubs and festivals
around the world. We are pleased to welcome this dance music icon to the Kick stage this July. Get ready for some serious beats.
